Dr. Ahmed Gomaa is chariman of the board of Alnoor Islamic Center, graduated with a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering for NC State University in 2016. During his PhD, Ahmed invented a novel treatment for drug-resistance bacteria, patented the technology, and co-founded a company to help bring the technology to patients. Ahmed currently works as management consultant with focus on pharmaceutical and food industries.
Since his arrival to the Raleigh, NC in 2011. Ahmed worked in multiple non-profit positions to help serve the community, including president of the Egyptian Student Association at NCSU, founder and principle of Ammar Bin Yaser Sunday School in Holly Springs, founder of Eid carnival (Eid celebration that serves around 2000 Muslims in the Triangle area every year usually at low to no cost).
In his spare time, Ahmed likes to spend time with his three kids, play soccer, tennis, swim, and fish.
